Anna Hazare Makes My Daughter Happy

So Anna Hazare decides to end his fast. Say about 4.5 million hash tags later, some moron in the Government thinks that Anna Hazare can turn out to be a threat and he must be stopped. The country was experiencing multiple orgasms with semi-final and final wins in the World cup and the new poster boys were being worshiped when this 70 year old probably with erectile dysfunction wakes up from some remote model village that he claims to have created in some part of the country.

- Anna Hazare! Hmm! Sorry…who?
- Anna Hazare!!! Who is he? \
- Dude, he is 70+ chap, and has been responsible for over 200 officers and 6 ministers’ resignation on the charges of corruption.
- Haan so what does he want?
- Brother, he is fighting to get all the fucking Swiss money that our ministers have stashed. You know if we get all the money which Indian politicians have kept there, India will be pay all the loans that it has taken from fucking World Bank and whosoever.
- Oh, you mean we have many loans other than the World Bank. Which are these loans?
- Who cares! Dude, the Swiss accounts have obscene amounts of money. Imaging, we will be a fucking rich country. We will be fucking at par with US. We will also have casinos, pubs, disco….just imagine!
- Arey but who is this Hazare chap man? Never heard of him.

While the municipal corporations in this country were cleaning the garbage post the World Cup final, this fragile, new age Gandhi called Anna Hazare decided to once again give a “Conversation Currency” to the world. Now the country woke up to him nursing a massive hangover! After watching a million dollar extravaganza where the cricket players were getting crores of rupees and gifts from various Governments, we needed to be reminded that all these gifts are an outcome of the taxing taxes that we pay. Its “Pay per Play” policy by the Government bodies didn’t hurt us but an old man protesting against something did hit us enough that we woke up to a social media heavy morning.

“I am with Anna”/ Mera Neta Chor Hai/ Support Anna Hazare/ Candle March/ Silence Meetings/ Rallies/ Facebook apps/ hash tags/ sms/ bbms….and every possible tool of connecting the world showed “Anna Hazare” trending. Worst part is that a lot of celebs (mostly Bollywood) also joined the wagon without actually realizing what the protest is about. I honestly doubt that the millions of people who have claimed to be a part of this revolution and supporting the ‘Dusra Gandhi” in the mission have any understanding of either the Lokpal bill or the cause for which Anna was battling.

The battle is well begun, it showed that India can be united in various way, social media is the new party etc. Analysts and statisticians have started spewing incomprehensible data analysis and trends on the protest. Poor Anna Hazare, all his life he battled against corruption all by himself and this one time when millions of people are with him, he will be ashamed to know that half the glitterati and the common public has no clue of his battle. They all think that Anna will get all the Swiss money back to India and we will be a rich country. Anna’s battle is similar to Arvind Kejriwal. It is opening up a new leaf in the history of Indian democracy where common people will be actively involved in policy formulation. At least, this one.

Now, lets throw the condoms that we wear on our head when we mentally masturbate. The mess needs to be cleaned or we will have infections all our lives. Do you remember the first bribe of your life? Its not the tenner that you gave to the cop when you were riding your brother’s bike without the license. You received your first bribe from your parents. If you sing a song for the uncle, I will give you 2 laddoos/ if you get 80% marks in maths I will buy you a superman tshirt/ if you top in this class, the cycle is yours/ finish your homework by 7 and you can watch TV for an hour. Corruption is so deep rooted. We live on corruption every day. College cut off list, jobs for meritorious students only, marriage prospects for IAS officers better, monthly targets, incentive schemes, insurance company retirement plans…boy, everything reeks of bribe!

How many of us can claim to say that I have never taken bribe or paid any kind of bribe to any one in my entire life. Anna’s battle is no redemption ground for us because in my opinion we don’t even acknowledge all the corruption that we are engaged in. We don’t want to see the obvious. We want to think that politicians are corrupt and we are not. The degree of corruption may vary but corruption is corruption. We use our network or friends to get smaller advantages like if you know someone at a local theater, you will get him to keep a few tickets for you for the blockbuster of the week, if you know someone in the electricity board, your power supply will not be cut even if you are well past the due date of your bill, or if your brother works for X department you will always use his office to get your way through. Someone suggested that like some businesses, we should invite corporations in each and every sector. Great! We can involved and invite any one that can add value to a system, anyone can be brought on board if someone is building a strong infrastructure, helping the country to develop a strong backbone.

In a time when we are bankrupt morally, anyone who wants to launch a crusade against corruption and by corruption I mean only corrupt politicians & government officers, he or she will get utmost support on social media and some rallies n marches but honestly, no one will change the way they live. No one will stop bribing, at different levels. Till the time we do not stop our children to go and lie to a visitor “papa is not at home”, any kind of battle of corruption will only get support. It will never be eradicated. If we want a corruption proof country, if we want every single penny of tax to be deployed properly, if we want the money’s worth, lets raise the moral standards. At least against the corruption. Every couple of years on Anna Hazare will come, launch a crusade and the be relegated to oblivion. I am not saying that I have lived on a higher moral ground all my life but the least that I promise to do from now onwards is neither will I pay nor will I accept any bribe from anyone for a job that needs to be done legally.

My daughter is quite happy, no more stress for studies for her!
